NFT Worlds condemns the My World Ban and will create a new game to replace it
The developer of the sandbox game Minecraft, Mojang Studios announced that Minecraft client and server applications are prohibited from integrating blockchain technology and may not be used to create NFTs related to any game content, including worlds, skins, character items or other mods.
Since the announcement, the price of NFT Worlds native token WRLD has fallen 67.4% to $0.0118. Their entire product ecology is built within Minecraft and now needs to find a new way out. Recently, the NFT game platform tweeted a condemnation of Mojang Studios and also said it was creating a new game and platform to replace Minecraft based on many of Minecraft's core mechanics.
NFT Worlds said that Mojang Studios' ban was disingenuous and that NFT was not hurting anyone in Minecraft. NFT Worlds also stated that the new game is not a replication of some of Minecraft's code, as this could violate the EULA or still be at risk of legal action, so the platform would be completely from scratch. This shift will also be accompanied by a more player-friendly public-facing brand identity change.
The new game will still be described as having the Minecraft system at its core, with gameplay, appearance and game performance familiar to veteran players. But the game mechanics, graphics, performance optimization and overall improvements will result in easier access and having an enjoyable gaming experience. Thereafter it will no longer be bound by Minecraft's policy enforcement. The NFT Worlds launcher and game page will remain open until development of the new game is complete.
NFT Worlds claims this new title will be completely free and will not have an insider purchase system, and will still follow the same game model as before, giving all players the opportunity to acquire items through in-game blockchain mechanics and NFT coin rewards.
